Moving towards Climate-Neutral Food System

The farm sector contributes to almost one-third of all greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This includes CO2 emissions and non-CO2 emissions (mostly methane). The main sources of methane are livestock activities and crop production. Livestock farming and rice cultivation are the major contributors to total agriculture emissions.

The Foundation seeks to take up initiatives to move towards an ecosystem for carbon-neutral food production in the country with methane as a co-benefit while enhancing the role of rice production and dairy in food security in India and globally.
